Dr. Richard Hendrickson, DVMDr. Richard Hendrickson, DVM:

Hello and thank you for considering American Veterinary Hospital for your pet care needs.  I believe in practicing safe, effective medicine and surgery with an emphasis on client education.  Prior to moving to California, I practiced at a high quality small animal practice in Wisconsin for 11 years.  My wife and I were born on the west coast and the door was opened in 2012 for us to move back by purchasing AVH.  We are very thankful to be able to raise our family where we have always called "home".  AVH is family owned.  When driving by, you may see my family and I landscaping, painting or just working around the property to make our hospital comfortable for you and your pets.  We are here to support the health and wellness of our community's pet family and are always striving to ensure your pet's health and happiness.

After graduating cum laude from Oregon State University, I attended the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine, where I graduated in 2000.  My professional interests are wellness care, internal medicine, and surgery.  I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association.

Our family mission statement is: So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do ALL to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31. My family and I believe in caring for the animals, one of His awesome creations, as good and devoted stewards. We strive for excellence in our relationship with you and your pets because we believe it is to God's glory, not our own. We have a love and passion for our Savior Jesus Christ, and all animals great and small.  I enjoy spending time outdoors, at church, football (go Beavers!), and golf.  We have a happy pet family of three amazing dogs, four terrific cats, and happy chickens.

From my family to yours, thank you for letting us care for your best friend's health care needs.  We welcome you to stop in and say hello!
